Christmas in Colorado: December 2015
We hadn’t been to Colorado in 2 years — and Han had never been there — so we packed up the family for a week plus in Colorado with Mimi and Papa for our winter break vacation.
Mother Nature was looking kindly on us and put about 6 inches of snow on the ground before we arrived and dumped almost another foot over the course of a few days during our visit. That meant that the kids got to have a lot of fun outside — building snowmen, sledding, exploring the fields around the house. We also went to Ouray and the hot springs, visited Papa at work in Paonia, saw Mimi’s horse Chaco and donkey Julio, and got to see Uncle Patrick in his police uniform. Jeff and Esme got in a trip to Powderhorn to ski and Jeff and Leslie got to have a date night to see the new Star Wars movie.
We spent a lot of time around the house too, and there was plenty to keep us busy: working on a 1000 piece puzzle, helping Papa sort out his coin jar ($250+ and counting!), spending the night in the camper (only Mimi and Esme lasted the whole night), and using their new roller skates inside the house.
We’re not sure who had a better time — the kids, or Mimi and Papa! It was a great trip and we can’t wait to do it again.
