Texas Trip: July 2011
In July, we took a month and traveled to Texas to see Leslie’s extended family. Originally we thought we’d just be visiting Grandmother (on Papa’s side) and Murr (on Mimi’s side). However, as luck would have it (or maybe the prospects of seeing both the kiddos at once), we ended up also getting to see Papa, Uncle Gene, Uncle Mike and Aunt Cheryl in San Saba, and then Mimi, Aunt Jackie, and even Cousins Carol and Helen.
The weather was hot — almost as hot as the crazy heat wave in St. Louis — so we stayed inside mostly, venturing out when it was a bit cooler or in the shade. We enjoyed seeing the ducks in the pond and playing on the swingset and slide at the park in San Saba, and running through the hallways and splashing in the pool in Beaumont. We even took a day off in between to split up the drive and explored Austin — had some great food and got the whole family in the hotel pool.
And of course there was no shortage of pictures!
